Modern art is delighted to launch a new edition by René Daniëls in collaboration with the artist, The René Daniëls Foundation, Eindhoven and K2 Screen, London. The silkscreen print is based on a recent painting by the artist from 2020. Daniëls has cast his signature across the image in graphic letters, centralising his name like a retro film poster. Daniëls returned to his studio practice in 2006 after a nineteen-year hiatus following an aneurysm in 1987. Writing on his recent works, curator Ulrich Loock found that "changing pictorial constellations express an existential situation of non-communication and isolation but are also pushed beyond these limits into a realm of extraordinary painterly possibilities”.
A portion of profits from the edition will contribute towards the development of a catalogue raisonné project for René Daniëls, starting with his practice in the late 1970s.
